Just closed the studio until the day after Christmas. We did a last minute sitting today of a Marine and his wife. Such a nice couple. We'll have some photos on the blog next week. Marine uniform is the best.
Merry Christmas to all!!

Nikon Building Melville New York

This is my original photo of the Nikon building in Melville NY. Sorry Nikon it was shot with a Samsung Galaxy S4 cell phone. Some work in Photoshop correcting perspective, etc. Then processed in Photomatix to get color effect.

Below is the result of my experiment. Any opinions on this photo. There are many other results that can be achived in Photomatix, Topaz and other programs.

Holiday Deadline

We really don't believe we should have deadlines for Holiday portraits.  So we are extending our deadline as far as we can. So, our deadline is December 20.  Call now for an appointment.

Holiday Portraits

Whether it's the entire family (including pets) or just the kids, it's not too early to book your session for the Holidays.

We have an exciting new feature at the studio . . . a beautiful fireplace. Bring your own stockings and hang them to create a personal touch to your image.

Although we prefer to do Holiday sessions early, we can do them right up to December 18, and deliver before Christmas.

Sister & Brother

We photographed this Sister & Brother awhile back. Looking through our files I came upon this image. I started to play around with it, and decided to make it Black & White, with a vignette . Don't ask what we did to create it, since we never make a list of what was done. We don't really want to remember what we did snince we want all of our images to be unique. The next image will get a different effect. No cookie cutter images at our studio.

By the way this couple were real fun to work with. Their Mom is a good friend of Liz.

Alex's Portrait

Alex was a real fun kid to work with today. Mom and Grandma were here dancing and singing to make him smile. I think he like it best when his clothes were off and he was in this bucket. Thanks for a fun time Alex.

Alex & Zachary's Portraits

Worked with Alex & Zachary this morning.  Great kids, very easy to work with, smiling all the time. Sorry they had a very wet and rainy day to come to the studio. It didn't seem to bother them though.

Although this may seem like bad news to some people, it is actually GOOD news!  For years, Sears and Walmart have "hoodwinked" the public with low quality images.  They lured people into their stores with false promises of low cost professional portraits, but what the consumer ultimately got was not inexpensive and certainly NOT professional.   They never actually hired professional photographers, it was all about marketing.  In reality, both Sears and Walmart did not "own" these studios, they were contractors from a company in St. Louis called CPI.  CPI's reputation was never good to customers or their employees.

We have heard horror stories from people who have used these studios only to be left with a big bill and very poor images.  They realized after the fact it would have been more cost effective to come to a studio like ours for true heirloom quality images at the same cost Sears and Walmart would have charged.

Unfortunately, there are still other similar "studios" in the local malls.  Again they lure customers in with the promise of cheap images . . .cheap is right, they are not worth the paper they are printed on!!!!!

Don't be fooled by these amateurs . . .we have spent years perfecting our craft and producing award winning images.  Call our studio for information on new specials!

Another Album Restoration

Here's another Wedding album from 1951 that we have been asked to restore. This client saw the last album we did for her friend, loved it so much she brought her Mom's in. Glad to see these old albums have such great value. Here's what it looks like now. We will post the finished album as soon as it's done.

Restoring Past Wedding Albums

All of a sudden we have had a run on restoring past wedding albums. Nice to see folks still cherish their albums from the time before shoot, burn, put it in a draw and never do anything with it.
We just finished this one from 1957. It's really amazing how much wedding photography has not changed since 1957. All the photos in this album looked about the same as todays weddings.

New Discount From Liz & Joe

Last night I received a 10% discount at Home Depot for being a veteran. By the way that is my ship from when I was in the Navy. Well, I was thinking this morning that might be a good idea for us to do at our studio. We also thought it would be a good idea to extend the discount to Police Officers & Fire Fighters.

So, all you have to do is present some form of ID at the studio and receive a 10% discount.

A Romantic Proposal at Our Studio

This was a very  romantic portrait session at our studio. . . since Archie proposed to Rivky when we finished capturing all the images they requested.  Archie called in advance so we could plan the session.  He brought roses and champagne.  We provided his special song for Rivky.  We must admit this was a first for us.

Archie, the handsome "Groom to Be"

Rivky, the beautiful "Bride to Be"
